Owned by Alex Hormozi

This one was never meant for a wall I’d see again.

I didn’t fly from London to Vegas just to ask Alex Hormozi a question.
I flew with a canvas and an offer.

Not for exposure.
Not for leverage.
Not to be seen.

It was a gesture. A thank you. A quiet nod to a body of work that had shaped the way I think about effort, leverage, and personal responsibility.

The painting is layered with references that only make sense if you’ve spent time in those ideas. Quotes from people who shaped him. Ideas that shaped me. A line I knew he’d clock instantly. Slightly irreverent. Intentionally obvious. Not trying to be clever.

I wasn’t on the list.
No meeting booked.
No slot in the Q&A.

Just a conviction and a willingness to look slightly out of place.

I handed it to security & told them it was for Alex Hormozi, his wife Leila, and the Acquisition (dot) com team.

An hour later I got a tap on the shoulder.

“Alex wants to meet you.”

He saw it. He got it. He kept it.

And that’s kind of the point.

This piece isn’t about the outcome. It’s about the decision to act without permission. To move before certainty shows up. To ship the thing because it feels true, not because it’s guaranteed to land.

The work itself reflects that energy. Dense. Marked up. Non-linear. A collision of habits, discipline, humour, and repetition. The kind of reminders that don’t need explaining once you’re living them.

This painting now lives somewhere it belongs. Exactly as intended.

Part of the Notes From Mentors series.
